Christina Hood was educated at the University of Otago and tthe California Institute of Technology, where she completed a PhD in physics in 2000. She served as a Government Affairs Fellow for the American Physical Society in Washington DC during 2000-01, and since returning to New Zealand in late 2001 has worked as a ministerial advisor and consultant on science, energy and climate change issues.
